I have had real problems since a Mircosoft automatic download tried to
install SQP 2005 Express Service pack 3.
Since then I have not been able to open my Microsoft accounting 2009 and I
have to close my books to send to taxman, so this is a CRTICAL issue for me.
I have not been able to use system restore as I do not seem to be able to go
back to a time before this failed download.  I am assuning I would be looking
for log 100 in SQL 2005 logs in prgramme files,  I have pasted blow.
I am running XP Professional service pack 3
                   Microsoft office 2007
                   Microsoft accounting Express 2009

here is the text from the log.  I would welcome any help

Have you tried downloading the service pack directly and reapplying it?

Hi Rick,

Tes I have tried that, it still will not install.  I was wondering if I
would be better to use windows uninstall clearner, take off all the sql 2005
server items I can see and just start again, would that work/  I also seem to
have a whole lot od SQL 2008, should I get rid of these as well/

If I had something that I labeled as CRITICAL I certainly wouldn't be
hunting and pecking on a news group for help.  I would be on the phone to
the vendor (in this case Microsoft) getting their tech support to get me
back up and functional.

Hi,

I have been onto Microsoft, that is where I started.  I have written to them
asking for support as this all seems related to the download they sent to me,
but they have just told me I need to have paid support only.  I do not have
199.00 to throw at this, hence I am trying what they told me to do which is
come to this commiunity to try and get help and support.

As a Guru, I would hope you have some ideas that may help, from my
understanding that is what this community is for and why Microsoft directed
me here.?
