What is the SQL Server 2005 CTPI have a MSDN SQL Server 2005 Developer edition disk called as SQL
Server 2005 CTP what is this CD ? is it the 2005 beta CD please confirm. Is it OK to install from this disk. Thanks Karen Hi,
CTP means - Community Technology Preview. This allows active customer feedback to drive final updates and routine fixes delivered in this service pack. The program will provide pre-release builds of Vista to interested customers and developers throughout the beta program. CTP builds will be available to MSDN and TechNet subscribers and technical beta program testers. Microsoft has plans to update the CTP at least once a month - a level of access never offered before in past Windows beta tests. decided to release more incremental steps, called CTP. But to be clear, your CD is *not* the release version of SQL Server 2005. I do not recommend using a pre-release since the produce has been released for almost a year not. And definitely not using it in production (which isn't legal). -- Show quoteHide quoteTibor Karaszi, SQL Server MVP http://www.karaszi.com/sqlserver/default.asp http://www.solidqualitylearning.com/ <karenmiddl***@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:1159518047.014788.57440@h48g2000cwc.googlegroups.com... >I have a MSDN SQL Server 2005 Developer edition disk called as SQL > Server 2005 CTP what is this CD ? is it the 2005 beta CD please > confirm. Throw it away and use the proper release disk that you should have received some time ago now.
