I am attempting to Upgrade from SBS 2003 Standard to Premium.  When i
start the installer, it goes to a setup requirements widnow and gives
me this error:

"SQL Server 2003 needs SP3 for Windows 2003 Server compatability."

I can not get past this to procede with the upgrade.  I no longer have
SQL 2000 running on this machine....

I had installed it at first, because SBS 2003 STandard did not come
with SQL.  I then tried to apply the SP4 update. The install failed.
At the same time i just got a copy of SBS 2003 Premium.  This version
comes with SQL if I understand the product features correctly.  So I
tried to run the setup to upgrade and it gave me the same error.  After
uninstalling SQL 2000 and retrying setup, i get the same error!!

What is the deal??? Can anyone help me??

I need to run SBS Premium, because I need the SQL integration. My
company is going to deploy Microsoft CRM 3.0 soon and I need SQL
integrated on the server!

Hi

Windows 2003 would normally give you the SP3 error when you try to install
SQL 2000 but it would not stop you from compeleting the installation.

Check out the installation logs for SQL 2000 to see if it gives you any more
information (sqlstp.log in the windows directory)

I assume that SQL 2000 is not in the add/remove programs applet in control
panel? http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/howtosql/ht_install_9ewl.asp
You could then try: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/howtosql/ht_install_8vu6.asp

If they fail check out
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290991

Even that is *seems* to be an error message, its just an information
message stating that the compability of windows 2k3 and sql2k isn´t
the best without the SP3 (or SP4). So install the server and SQL and
afterwards install the SP3 / SP$. That´ll work fine.
