I am new to discoverer, but would want to produce a overview of the
major differences between the web version and the client/desktop
version of the tool.

Did you try checking the release notes?

Sure, i tried but i didn't find a clear positioning.
I had some replies on this question in another discussion groop and it
seems that using the web version, you cannot maintain subqueries or
save to file.
