Active/Active/Active Cluster question
Hi!
This is the first time I have to setup Active/Active/Active Cluster and I am not sure on how many instances I have to install on each node. Because of the hardware constraints I have to build one node cluster first, then in a week add another node in to the cluster and then another. Each physical node must be able to support all three instances at any point. When I build one node cluster first I will install three instances (server1\sql1, server1\sql2, server1\sql3) of SQL Server. In one week when I add another node (which will only have Windows OS installed) to the cluster do I have to install three SQL Instances on that node or they will automatically be created because the node is already in the cluster? T. Hi
SQL Instance is per node, thuse you will have to install 3 instances on the second node too Show quoteHide quote "tolcis" <nytolly***@gmail.com> wrote in message news:5ffb341d-801b-4008-a74c-e9ed039c5751@k36g2000pri.googlegroups.com... > Hi! > This is the first time I have to setup Active/Active/Active Cluster > and I am not sure on how many instances I have to install on each > node. > Because of the hardware constraints I have to build one node cluster > first, then in a week add another node in to the cluster and then > another. > Each physical node must be able to support all three instances at any > point. > When I build one node cluster first I will install three instances > (server1\sql1, server1\sql2, server1\sql3) of SQL Server.
