Are there any issues with 2000 and 2005 SQL on the same server?  Have a
machine with both and the perception is that the server became unstable with
the 2005 install, although I'm not convinced that if it is unstable the 2005
install caused it.  Box has 4 Gig RAM.

Hello Jeffery,

There should not be any problem running 2000 & 2005 SQL on same server.

Cheers!!

Thanks for the reply.  Would you know of anyplace where I might find some
'official' documentation that discusses this?

Jeffery,

The focus of this is upgrading, but with comments on side-by-side 2000 and
2005 instances in the topic
"Upgrading to the SQL Server 2005 Database Engine"
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/sqlupgrd.mspx

And from the MSDN blogs:
http://blogs.msdn.com/sqlblog/archive/2006/09/27/co-existence-of-sql-2005-with-sql-2000.aspx

FWIW,
RLF

When you installed 2005 - did you set the min/max memory settings for
both instances?  If not, this could be part of the problems you are having.

At least, that is something you should check and verify.
